I’m so excited to share this Quarter Mill Ranch portrait session with you today! When I first started my journey into photography, I was asking family and friends close to me to help with my portfolio. When Heidi reached out about a portrait photos with her horses, I just couldn’t wait to work with her and them! There’s something so special about a portrait session with animals. Sometimes animals don’t corporate so, you have to shoot fast and when you do, you get some amazing shots.
I have known Heidi for a little over five years and let me tell you, she is a c-o-u-n-t-r-y girl. She owns a sweet (not so little) ranch near Groveland, Indiana. It is home to her boyfriend Derrick, two little pups and beautiful horses. The weather for this portrait session was absolutely amazing with clear skies in the morning and just a little bit of wind. For this portrait session, Heidi wanted to included two of her horse, Jet and Cassie. It one of the images, you can tell Cassie giving me the side eye. It made for a great memory and image.
The first half of the portrait session, Heidi is captured with her beautiful horses and in the second half of the session she is captured with her boyfriend Derrick. Let’s face it, not many men are into getting their picture taken but I was able to capture a couple smirks from Derrick. When Heidi came out in her second outfit, she had told Derrick to go change into a nicer shirt that matches her dress… When you are in the country, you get black t-shirt and jeans. These two are the cutest and when it was time to twirl, Heidi face tells it all.
To Heidi York, thank you so much for allowing me to capture these precious memories for you! It was truly so much fun and I can’t to capture you again in the fall.
Enjoy this little peek into this sweet portrait session!
