I wait for this week every year… Minnesota is such a beautiful state to photograph in and I am so excited to share this Minnesota Anniversary Session with you! I have known Kaleigh my entire life, in fact we are cousins! Our families travel to Perham, Minnesota every year for vacation and we stay at this amazing place called Northern Lights Resort which is located on Dead Lake.

This will be the second time photographing in Minnesota and I am so happy to be able to photograph my beautiful cousin along with her husband, Andrew. I love shooting anniversary sessions because I get to capture the long lasting love that they have for each other as they did when they were first married.

Minnesota Anniversary Session

Kaleigh and Andrew have been married for five years in October and they currently live in Illinois. The weather for this session was 70 degrees, with a beautiful haze of clouds covering the sun. It was PERFECTION…except for the part where we were eaten alive by mosquitoes. It doesn’t take much to make Kaleigh laugh, say a little joke that doesn’t make sense and she dies laughing. With her laughter comes Andrew’s gaze at her. You can definitely tell he is in love and it was amazing to capture it.

At the beginning of the session, I asked Andrew to be lovey dovey with her and it came so easy for him. It was AMAZING! OMG, every single pose that I asked for them to do was on point and they had fun! Couples who are the best of friends and never lose that playful side, make for the best images. Find someone who is willing to embrace that silly side and just live life to its fullest. That is the key to a long a happy life.

To Kaleigh and Andrew, thank you so much for allowing me to capture these precious memories for you! You two are the cutest couple! Kaleigh, never stop laughing and Andrew, never stop loving those dimples.
